The Passport of the Citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan is a document that certifies the identity of a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan on the territory of the republic and abroad in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Tajikistan. It is issued on the basis of the Rules for Issuing a Passport of a Citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated June 13, 2014, No. 406.
All citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan who have reached the age of 16 are required to have a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The passport is issued to citizens by the territorial subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan at the place of residence or place of temporary stay within the country on the basis of the documents provided for by the Rules for Issuing a Passport of a Citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated June 13, 2014, No. 406.
In this regard, citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan must apply to the territorial subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan to obtain a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan. The passport of a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan is not issued by diplomatic missions (embassies and consular offices) of the Republic of Tajikistan.
