Visa-free regime

From January 1, 2022, the Republic of Tajikistan announced a unilateral visa-free system for citizens of 52 foreign countries to enter, stay and leave the Republic of Tajikistan for a period of 30 days.

This system allows citizens of these foreign countries to enter, stay and leave the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan with all types of foreign passports (diplomatic, official/special and general citizen), regardless of the purpose of the trip, within 30 days.
However, citizens of 52 foreign countries are obliged to register in the relevant authorities of the country within 10 working days from the date of their entry into the Republic of Tajikistan and leave the Republic of Tajikistan after the expiration of their 30-day stay.
With this in mind, foreign citizens who enter the Republic of Tajikistan for a period of more than 30 days for the purpose of employment, education, permanent residence and other purposes are obliged to have a visa suitable for the purpose of the trip before traveling to Tajikistan.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons can obtain the relevant visa from the foreign institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan in the country of residence or in agreement with the Consular Directorate upon entry from the Consular Bureau at the Dushanbe International Airport.
Foreign citizens with whom the Republic of Tajikistan has signed a visa-free system for holders of diplomatic, service or general citizen passports on the basis of bilateral and multilateral agreements have the right to enter the Republic of Tajikistan without a visa for the period specified in the agreement.

Attention!
To the attention of foreign citizens who have regular visas and electronic work visas, or for whom the visa-free system for travel and stay in the Republic of Tajikistan has been introduced, they are obliged to report to the authorities of internal affairs or foreign affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan within 10 (ten) working days ( only for employees of diplomatic missions) to undergo registration, except for citizens of countries that are exempt from registration for certain periods based on relevant agreements.
